Here is a little info about my baby and her development.
Twenty-Six Weeks!
Don't panic if your uterus suddenly starts tightening and relaxing -- Braxton Hicks contractions often begin around this time. They're simply your body's way of practicing and preparing for labor. (If the contractions are regular or particularly painful, call your doc just to be sure it's not the real thing.)
Baby's now the size of an eggplant!
Baby's soaking up your antibodies, getting her immune system ready for life outside the womb. Eyes are forming, and she'll soon be practicing the blink...perfect for batting those freshly grown lashes.
I will not go into how much weight I have gained (must watch the cookie intake, lol). DH and I have both felt LO (little one) move. He was really surprised when he felt her, LG (little girl) has an powerful punch/kick. I am still working as a part-time sub and so far no one other than my boss knows I am preggers. I am obviously showing but with winter upon us, I wear more layers so bump shows less. DH and I are still deciding on names, so far we only agree on ONE! We picked out our crib and my registry is 90% done.
Overall all is well. We are happy, healthy, and excited. I still worry (don't all women) but am thankful to have friends with babies that are willing to help/answer my questions/soothe my mommy worries. My friends, family, and DH have all been amazing during this time.

It's a...
So at 18 weeks (Nov 29th, 2010) my DH (dear husband) and I went in for our fetal survey. DH was very sweet to come with me and this was the first time he would see the baby. I got to see baby at 6 weeks when I first went to the OBGYN to figure out how far along I was. Up to this point everything was good good. I had morning sickness and actually lost some weight, but my doctor was not concerned. At 18 weeks I was finally feeling better and we were looking forward to seeing what gender baby was. So we were in the u/s room and I hopped up on the table. The tech went to work right away (their belly cream/stuff is always so nice and warm)and she asked if we wanted to know the gender. DH and I both said yes and after a quick search, the tech found the right parts.
And she annouced happily "It's a girl" Hurray for little girl W!

Our Little Surprise!
So hubby and I have been married since June 6th, 2009. We both wanted children but wanted to wait and go on one big trip before we starting trying to conceive. I was on the pill but that was the only form of birth control we were using. We enjoyed our first year anniversary in June 2010 and huge backyard BBQ with friends and neighbors. We were both working and I was going to graduate school, and we both were trying to decide on where to go for our big trip.
So this may be a bit TMI but my cycles have never been regular. Even before I was sexually active, my period sometimes would skip an entire month. So come August 2010 when all I had was a little light spotting I thought it was just one of those weird months and continued to go on about my normal life. Then I started to feel quesy towards the end of August. I would also get this funny feeling like part of my stomach was asleep. I shrugged it off at first then started to worry. So I decided to go to a walk-in clinic early September. I told them what I was feeling and they asked me about my last period. I told them about the spotting and they said it sounded like I was pregnant. They made me take a pregnancy test and sure enough, it came back positive.
Well I freaked a little, starting crying/worrying about what to do. They suggested I go see a OBGYN to figure out how far along I truly was and I was wondering where to go from there. I called my husband and asked him if I could met him for lunch (he was working nearby). He said sure and I left it at that. On the drive over I got a hold of my emotions and figure out the perfect way to tell him about our little surprise.
My husband and I are both nerds. We love the SyFy channel, board/video/dice games, comics, steam punk, etc. My husband's favorite superheros are Batman and Captain America. So I arrived at his work and asked him to take a walk with me.
"So..." I said, biting my lip "You know how Batman has Robin and Captain America has Bucky" He gave me a look. "How would you feel about having a little sidekick of our own?" Hubby's jaw dropped and he leaned against the building. We walked to a bench and sat down, the whole time my heart was in my throat. "Are you sure?" he asked. I nodded. He looked around (later he said he was looking for hidden cameras) and asked if I was sure, again. I nodded and started to cry. Hubby hugged me and calmed me down. He and I had a long talk and in the end we were both very happy (if not very surprised). We told both sets of parents (and swore them to secret) and I called a previously recommended OBGYN to set up an appointment.
And all those this baby was a surprise, hubby and I are very excited to meet our little girl, EDD May 2nd, 2001!
