6 months old!
In her short life, Evelyn has seen a lot and traveled many miles. She has weathered tornadoes, an earthquake (luckily not felt), a hurricane, and a freak October snowstorm. She has been up to Maine twice and the weekend before Halloween we went down to Pennsylvania for a family wedding. Evelyn rolled over from her tummy to her back on October 21st and has not stopped rolling since. She loves to roll around on her handmade quilt, reaching for different toys. Evee is getting really good at sitting up on her own and trying to get her knees up when on her tummy. I have a feeling she is going to be crawling soon! Evelyn is growing too, she know wheres 6-9month clothes (mostly 9 month, this girl is long!) and size three diapers (a bit big). She is even cutting her first tooth! She got dressed up for Halloween and then Friday Mommy took her to get holiday pictures done. They turned out super cute! Evelyn is such a sweet, easy baby and we count our lucky stars that she stays happy through most trials! Here are some cute pictures, I promise another update soon.

5 moths and 2 days Old!
Evelyn is growing so fast, I can hardly keep up with her. Or my blog.
At her four month check up Evelyn was 26 inches long (95%) and weighed 13lbs and 10oz (50%). She is a long, lean baby and I love it. The next day (9/10) I was sorting through her clothes. She is now wearing 3-6 month onesies and even fits into a lot of her 6 month clothes. I found these cute 3-9 month onesies at Target that have come in handy. I had her in her crib with her mobile on when Evee started fussing. I looked at her and saw that she had rolled completely over onto her stomach. A few nights later she woke up "asking" for food, when I went to get her she was on her stomach again looking up at me with a big grin. Evelyn has been sleeping on her stomach since, for about two weeks now!
Another bit of good news is that I got a new job. I just finished my third week working as a paraprofessional. I enjoy my job so far but it is very hard leaving Evelyn. Luckily my parents and in-laws have graciously agreed to handle the day care. Makes leaving her a little easier, but not much.
Evelyn has now almost outgrown her infant car seat. She is very aware and loves to play, "sing", giggle, and roll from her back to her tummy. Evee loves to bounce in her exersaucer and taking apart the crocodile on it every time we try to put him back together. She is able to sit in her stroller with being in her car seat as of her fifth month birthday. We make sure to have blankets around her so Evee does not bounce around to much. My cousin is going to get married at the end of this month, so Evelyn and I (hubby is working that weekend) are going down to see Great-Grandma (again) and all her Great-Aunts and Uncles. Everyone is excited to meet her. And now for some cuteness....

Four Months Old!

Evelyn is growing and changing with each passing day. She smiles and giggles now. And being an awesome baby, she sleeps 7 to 8 hours a night! Usually Evee wakes up, eats, and then goes back down for another two hours. She is just a precious doll and I love her to bits. Evelyn has another doctor's appointment this Friday and I can not wait to see how much she has grown. I feel bad because she has to get more shots. Last time her little cry fest broke Mommy's heart! Overall Evelyn makes our lives brighter and full of love each and every day! Here is a picture of Evee on her four month birthday. Enjoy!

Ten weeks and growing!
Evelyn had her two month check up on Thursday. Evelyn is now 23 and 1/2 inches long. She weighs 11 lbs and 5 oz. She is in the 80th % for height and 50th % for weight. Her doctor said she is just perfect, growing appropriately for her age and gender. Hubby was a bit worried about her weight, but I was the same way as a baby. Her doctor thinks Evelyn will be tall and slender. She did have to get her first round of shots and a drink. Mommy was more upset then baby by the whole ordeal. Evelyn cried when they gave her the shots but was soon comforted by me. She did very well and even dozed off not long after the whole ordeal. Yesterday she was running a bit of a fever, but nothing above 100 degrees, which the doctor said was perfectly normal.
Yesterday was a big night out for myself and my husband. We went to a wedding and were away from Evelyn for the longest amount of time yet. Thankfully my mom was able to baby-sit and Evelyn did very well with her. Hubby and I had a wonderful time eating, dancing, and playing Rock Band at the wedding. We missed our daughter but it was nice to get out and act like grown-ups. Today we are taking it easy. We are heading over to his parents for a dip in their pool.
Evelyn is such a bright girl She smiles, "talks", loves to play and explore the world. She is easy going and has discovered her hands and can self-soothe a bit with them. Evelyn also rolled over once, from her tummy to her back but so far she has not done it again. She can get onto her side but then gets stuck. We go to Baby and Me classes every Wed and Evee seems to enjoy them. All three of us are looking forward to our trip up North next month. Here is a picture of Evelyn on her two-month brithday:

29 Years Young...
It was my 29th birthday on June 25th. And I did absolutely nothing. Hubby had to work and my parents were way at a family wedding. My in-laws stopped over to say hello and gave me some lovely flowers and a present ($). Hubby already gave me my gift, a Pandora bracelet! I already have two charms (one for my bday and one because I change the majority of the diapers). My early bday gift was an Iphone from my parents and it is one of my favorite presents of all time. Evie and I were able to go out to Target, where I promptly bought three things for her. Lol, that is the way you roll when you are a mom. Evie is doing well...she gave me the best present. She slept through the night! She has been sleeping 4 to 6 hours a night since her month check up.
We have been busy here. Hubby is working a lot and I have been trying to keep Evelyn entertained during the rainy days. She went to her first big party over Father's Day weekend and did okay. Got really cranky about half way through due to the hot weather and the fact she had not had a nap all day. She is growing still and has out grown most of her 0-3 onesies because Evie is just too long for them. Our next trip is to my in-laws to use their pool. I'm going to stick Evie's feet in and see how she likes it. Then another party in July and in August we are taking Evelyn to Maine! I can not wait. Nor can I believe how fast the summer is going. I dread returning to work and not getting to spend time with my cuddle bug. Oops got to run, Evelyn is awake and fussy. Here is a picture of her smile to brighten your days.

Growing..
Evelyn had her 1 month check up on Friday and she is growing like a weed. She know weighs 9lbs and 6oz. Also she is now 22 and 1/2 inches long. Her height is in the 85% percentile and her weight is average. The doctor said Evelyn will probably be tall and lean (just like Mommy). Evelyn is also beginning to smile, coo, and has really good head control. She can lift her head up high when on her stomach. And she loves to wiggle, kick, move, and even rolled onto her side once or twice. It is just so amazing to see how much Evelyn has changed and grown in such a short time. I love spending time with her and taking pictures. We try to take a walk every day (weather permitting) and Evee loves going in her stroller. She is just a pleasant baby and I love being her Mom.

Birth Story
So on May 5th, 2011 I gave birth to Evelyn May. This is my birth story.
3:30am I woke up to having a contraction. I knew it was a real one because it went all the way around my stomach and back. I got up, went to the bathroom, drank some water, waited, and nothing. Sighing I went back to bed.Another contraction woke me up at 4:30 and then another at 5:30. I gave up trying to sleep, debating about waking DH, then decided to check my emails and watch some TV. The contractions were irregular so I saw no need to rush.
At about 8:30 my contractions were coming more regular so I woke my DH up and he showered while I ate breakfast. He then went to get gas, doughnuts, and pack the car. At about 9:45 I called my doctor. She told me to start timing the contractions and to call back when they were five minutes apart. DH and I watched some Netflix and whenever a contraction hit he would right down the time. They were getting really painful. Traveling down my back and almost into my knees. By noon I was in agony and the contractions were still not 5 mins apart. They sped up quick and by 1:30 I was not smiling any more. We called the doctor and she said to head to the hospital.
At 2:10 I was admitted to LD. The nurse came in and asked me to change so she could check me. I was 4 cm and 100% effaced! Officially checked in to stay at 3:10pm. We talked about my opinions for pain management and I decided to try soaking in the hot tub. DH called my parents and his parents to tell them the news. I got in the tub and soaked with the jets on my back. Nothing seemed to help the pain (severe back and leg pain, like a 10 on the scale). I held out in the tub for an hour, hoping to help the process a little.
I hopped out of the tub after an hour and tried using the birthing ball. My MP promptly fell out. I attempted to breathe through a couple contractions before asking the nurse what she would recommend. She told me honestly to get an epi sine the pain was a 10 on the scale. I agreed (feeling a little guilty about it) and sent my hubby out of the room (he doesn't do needles well). I was hooked up and drugged up by 5ish. The doctor came in to check me and I was 10cm dilated (from 4 to 10 in two and a half hours about)! The doctor broke my water and the nurse told me to rest and she would be back when it was time to push. I actually dozed off for a bit (the epi was wonderful and looking back I am glad I got it).
At 7:00 the nurse came back and told me it was time to start pushing. DH held up one leg and she held up the other. I pushed and pushed. In between pushes, the nurse and DH chatted and helped keep me distracted. After 30mins they gave me oxygen because I was having trouble catching my breath. I continued pushing, bearing down hard each time. After another two hours of pushing, my LG popped out easily at 9:25pm. She cried about two seconds later and then I started crying. DH cut the cord, the nurses wiped her off and handed her to me. I got to cuddle with her for a few minutes before they took her to get cleaned and measured. While DH was watching her and taking down her numbers, I delivered the afterbirth. I did have a small tear and the doctor stitched me up quickly. Once I was clean and stitched up, they gave my LG back to me for some skin to skin time. She started BFing almost right way. I was so amazed and in awe of her. I was so happy she was finally here.
Introducing Evelyn May. Born 5/5/2011 at 9:25pm. She weighed 7lbs and 14oz and was 20 and 1/4 inches long. I took the first picture on Friday (5/6) morning. The second picture was taken on Sunday (Mother's Day), which was our first day home with her.

One Week Ago...
We welcomed our little girl into the world. Evelyn May was born on 5/5/2011 at 9:25pm. She weighed 7lbs and 14oz, was 20 and 3/4 inches long. Mom and Baby are doing well. Taking things one day at a time. We were dismissed from the hospital on Mother's Day. Made my first Mother's Day very memorable. I will post her birth story later, promise! Here is little Evelyn:

Still Waiting...
So my EDD was Monday. And we are still waiting for Lil Girl Walsh to make her debut. I am feeling okay. Not sleeping every well and irregular contractions every once in awhile. I had a doctor's appointment on Monday, I was 2 to 3 cm dilated and 70% thinned out. That is good sign, means things are progressing. Have an ultrasound and non-stress test on Friday. I am hoping that I go into labor before then. Friday feelings like a good day to have a baby. And I will be a mom (to an outside baby) before Mother's Day. If she is not here by Friday, I have another appointment Tuesday and we will start taking about options and what we can do to have baby arrive. So I am still waiting...can't wait to meet her and hold her.

In One Week...
it will be my EDD! I am so excited and nervous about meeting our Little Girl. DH and I are basically as ready as we can be for her arrival. The nursery is all set up, our bags are packed, and on Wed my mom is going to come and help me clean the house from top to bottom. Tomorrow I have a doctor's appointment and it will be good to see if I have made any progress. We still have a few things to do: get the car seat inspected, set up the pack and play, and OH name the baby. I have a name I absolutely love and DH likes it. I think is going to come down to me in labor, sweetly asking DH to name her that name. And who cares if a certain close family member made a face when I first mentioned that name. It is our daughter and we will name her what we want.
Now to do some chores before retiring to the couch. Oh and for any lurkers out there, feel free to play my guessing game. Thanks and have a nice day!

30 Weeks!
I can not believe my EDD is only 10 weeks away. DH and I are very excited, as well as a little nervous, about meeting our Little Girl. Lately we have been talking names and we have a few we both like (but are keeping them secret until she arrives). Our crib and dresser are going to be delivered sometime this week plus we have a very talented friend and his mom painting something for us on the nursery wall while DH and I are out of town for my first baby shower. We have awesome friends because another friend of ours agreed to take some maternity photos for me. Here is a little about the babies development (taken from http://www.babycenter.com/6_your-pregnancy-30-weeks_1119.bc):
How your baby's growing:
Your baby's about 15.7 inches long now, and she weighs almost 3 pounds (like a head of cabbage). A pint and a half of amniotic fluid surrounds her, but that volume will decrease as she gets bigger and takes up more room in your uterus. Her eyesight continues to develop, though it's not very keen; even after she's born, she'll keep her eyes closed for a good part of the day. When she does open them, she'll respond to changes in light but will have 20/400 vision — which means she can only make out objects a few inches from her face. (Normal adult vision is 20/20.)
The best thing so far is watching my belly move when LG (little Girl) moves/kicks/punches/has the hiccups. She definitely gets the hiccups a lot, it is so cute! Only 10 more weeks to go!

26 weeks!
Here is a little info about my baby and her development.
Twenty-Six Weeks!
Don't panic if your uterus suddenly starts tightening and relaxing -- Braxton Hicks contractions often begin around this time. They're simply your body's way of practicing and preparing for labor. (If the contractions are regular or particularly painful, call your doc just to be sure it's not the real thing.)
Baby's now the size of an eggplant!
Baby's soaking up your antibodies, getting her immune system ready for life outside the womb. Eyes are forming, and she'll soon be practicing the blink...perfect for batting those freshly grown lashes.
I will not go into how much weight I have gained (must watch the cookie intake, lol). DH and I have both felt LO (little one) move. He was really surprised when he felt her, LG (little girl) has an powerful punch/kick. I am still working as a part-time sub and so far no one other than my boss knows I am preggers. I am obviously showing but with winter upon us, I wear more layers so bump shows less. DH and I are still deciding on names, so far we only agree on ONE! We picked out our crib and my registry is 90% done.
Overall all is well. We are happy, healthy, and excited. I still worry (don't all women) but am thankful to have friends with babies that are willing to help/answer my questions/soothe my mommy worries. My friends, family, and DH have all been amazing during this time.

It's a...
So at 18 weeks (Nov 29th, 2010) my DH (dear husband) and I went in for our fetal survey. DH was very sweet to come with me and this was the first time he would see the baby. I got to see baby at 6 weeks when I first went to the OBGYN to figure out how far along I was. Up to this point everything was good good. I had morning sickness and actually lost some weight, but my doctor was not concerned. At 18 weeks I was finally feeling better and we were looking forward to seeing what gender baby was. So we were in the u/s room and I hopped up on the table. The tech went to work right away (their belly cream/stuff is always so nice and warm)and she asked if we wanted to know the gender. DH and I both said yes and after a quick search, the tech found the right parts.
And she annouced happily "It's a girl" Hurray for little girl W!

Our Little Surprise!
So hubby and I have been married since June 6th, 2009. We both wanted children but wanted to wait and go on one big trip before we starting trying to conceive. I was on the pill but that was the only form of birth control we were using. We enjoyed our first year anniversary in June 2010 and huge backyard BBQ with friends and neighbors. We were both working and I was going to graduate school, and we both were trying to decide on where to go for our big trip.
So this may be a bit TMI but my cycles have never been regular. Even before I was sexually active, my period sometimes would skip an entire month. So come August 2010 when all I had was a little light spotting I thought it was just one of those weird months and continued to go on about my normal life. Then I started to feel quesy towards the end of August. I would also get this funny feeling like part of my stomach was asleep. I shrugged it off at first then started to worry. So I decided to go to a walk-in clinic early September. I told them what I was feeling and they asked me about my last period. I told them about the spotting and they said it sounded like I was pregnant. They made me take a pregnancy test and sure enough, it came back positive.
Well I freaked a little, starting crying/worrying about what to do. They suggested I go see a OBGYN to figure out how far along I truly was and I was wondering where to go from there. I called my husband and asked him if I could met him for lunch (he was working nearby). He said sure and I left it at that. On the drive over I got a hold of my emotions and figure out the perfect way to tell him about our little surprise.
My husband and I are both nerds. We love the SyFy channel, board/video/dice games, comics, steam punk, etc. My husband's favorite superheros are Batman and Captain America. So I arrived at his work and asked him to take a walk with me.
"So..." I said, biting my lip "You know how Batman has Robin and Captain America has Bucky" He gave me a look. "How would you feel about having a little sidekick of our own?" Hubby's jaw dropped and he leaned against the building. We walked to a bench and sat down, the whole time my heart was in my throat. "Are you sure?" he asked. I nodded. He looked around (later he said he was looking for hidden cameras) and asked if I was sure, again. I nodded and started to cry. Hubby hugged me and calmed me down. He and I had a long talk and in the end we were both very happy (if not very surprised). We told both sets of parents (and swore them to secret) and I called a previously recommended OBGYN to set up an appointment.
And all those this baby was a surprise, hubby and I are very excited to meet our little girl, EDD May 2nd, 2001!

Hubby's jaw dropped and he leaned against the building.
